RIDASCREEN®FAST Peanøtt er en sandwich enzyme immunoassay (Elisa) for kvantitativ analyse av peanøtter eller deler av peanøtter i næringsmidler, enten som ingrediens eller kontaminering i rå eller kokte næringsmidler.
Frokostblandinger, kaker, iskrem og melkesjokolade er godkjent/validert av AOAC Research institute ihht. "Performance Tested Method Program" med lisensnummer 030404.
Generell informasjon:
Peanut (Arachis hypogeae) is a very nutritious fruit among the legume family. Unfortunately peanuts belong to the most allergenic foods. Nearly 7 - 10 % of the total protein content (about 25 %) consists of allergic proteins (i.e. Arachine, Conarachine). Even consumption of few milligrams of peanut can induce allergic reactions in highly allergic persons. Symptoms range from allergic skin reactions up to death due to anaphylactic shock. Since peanut allergy is persistent during life and treatment of this allergy is not possible, avoiding peanuts is extremely important for these patients. Traces of peanut contamination in food, cosmetics, or drinks are difficult to detect. For the protection of consumers against peanut contaminations, methods like rocket immuno electrophoresis, FPLC and enzyme immunoassay (ELISA) have been established. This may contribute to increased safety of products for peanut allergic patients.

Cross-reactions:
|
The polyclonal antibody specifically detects peanut proteins, including the peanut allergen Ara h1. Extracts from oat, corn, wheat, barley, sesame or soy do not interfere with the test. Different kinds of nuts like hazelnut, almond, walnut, cashew, pistachio and pecan show no cross reaction. The cross reactivity to chicken beans is 0.001 % and to green peas 0.2 %.
