Intended use:

MELAMINE CLEAN-UP COLUMNS can be used for the clean-up of pigmented samples before detection by HPLC. The solid phase columns reduce background interference and improve the accuracy of results.

 

General information:

Melamine is sometimes illegally added to food products to increase the apparent protein content. Standard tests estimate protein levels by measuring nitrogen content, so they can be misled by adding nitrogen-rich compounds such as melamine.
