ENZYTECTM Oxalic acid

 

Til bestemmelse av oksalsyre/oxalic acid i næringsmidler, slik som øl, vin, honning, sjokolade, kakao, rabarbra, spinat, poteter, te, de fleste nøtter og til biologiske prøver.

Andre navne: Ethandisyre. (Eng.: Oxalic acid, ethanedioic acid). Saltene av oksalsyre benevnes oxalater eller ethandioater.

Oxalsyre er en enkel organisk syre, som bl.a. har den uheldige egenskap, at den binder kalsium som uopløseligt calciumoxalat (CaC2O4), som danner sten i urinveiene. Gallesten og nyresten inneholder en hel del calciumoxalat. Oxalsyre finnes i umodne tomater og jordbær, rødbeter, rips og solbær, stikkelsbær, appelsiner, gulerøtter og agurker.

 

Prinsipp:

 

Oxalate is oxidized to carbon dioxide and hydrogen peroxide by

oxalate oxidase. Hydrogen peroxide reacts in presence of

peroxidase (POD) with MBTH (3-methyl-2-benzothiazolinone

hydrazone) and DMAB (3-dimethylamino benzoic acid) forming a

blue quinone compound. The intensity of color is proportional to

the concentration of oxalate in the sample and it is read at 590 nm.
